      QAnon is the form fascist mysticism has taken in the US. Conspiracy has been the actual dominant religion in the US for a long time, so It's not surprising. Doesn't make it any less bizarre, though.

      John Lewis accused his primary opponent of smoking crack at the height of the crack epidemic to win this seat and won by winning over the minority of white voters in the district.

      His story represents my greatest fears around the future of the current youth activist movement leaders. Who, no matter how great they seem now, will completely sell out once they learn how sweet the deal is on the other side.

    Ha, I did a data scrape for CA-7 for a campaign once a few years ago. Also I live near-ish enough to know the area. It's main Elk Grove, which used to be a little aggy town, but was taken over by white flight and is now just an exurb of Sacramento. It's this disgusting little extremely wealthy enclave of people stealing aggy valor and they've got a very '60s sense of "you don't belong here, boy" going on.

    I fucking haaaaate Elk Grove and most of Contra Costa County.
