Yeah... There's nothing liberals would like more than to be friends with communists like they've always been throughout history. If only those mean tankies would let them in.

Yeah! Exactly! Newton and Leibniz and most of the Mathematics Theory writers were dealing with 1700s-1800s Europe and it’s technology and physical structure.

Libs and progressive are usually just Socdems or neolibs, they're not real ideologies. And given that they're capitalists, yeah they can fuck off.

Demsocs are cool though, and MAS is the most recent example of succesful democratic socialism.. Though that came with a lot more than voting the bad guys out of power

Yea the coup in Bolivia specifically pushed me to read more Lenin and recognize that democratic socialism may not be feasible without a militant party structure. No judgement on MAS, go off kings & queens, but seeing them get ousted made me appreciate purges

Here in the US can demsocs (like Bernie) and their policies actually help us? Or will it just put another bandaid on a bleeding empire and keep us content for a while longer?

Obviously we should all have national healthcare, etc. but does that weaken the contradictions by allowing a social safety net like that?

I'd argue that bernie is a social democrat, not a democratic socialist, because he just wants to patch up capitalism, not transition to socialism.

That said, I'm not American so others would know better than me, but I think bernie's policies would help people, at least citizens of the US, and give credibility to socialist ideas

MLs immediately split into Stalinists and Trotskyists

Trotskyists continue to subdivide down to the Plank Constant while Stalinists purge the Marxist in charge

    The system works, folks.

Bookchin kinda cringe though, he took ancaps in good faith and said he would ally with them and other libertarians no matter the leaning to try and destroy a "collectivist" state.

    "socdems are definitely not left"

Unless we're living in 60s and early 70s, succdems are definitely left

I mean social democracy protects liberalism's tendency towards instability, it doesn't seek to give power to the workers, just buy them off with temporary concessions.

      Did you mean demSuccs?

Phase five can also be more sinister: Succdems abandon the liberal pretenses of being the good guys and shift to a neo-Strasserite position of (limited) welfare for select voter groups and unbridled racism.

        No i mean succdems

it doesn’t seek to give power to the workers

        Depends on the succdem

We lived through 40-45 years of neoliberalism and privatisation, public opinion shifted heavily to the right almost all around the world. Succdems moved from slightly left of center to left, and got replaced by social liberals at that part of the spectrum.
