My buddy used to take care of an outdoor cat and the blue jays would steal his food right in front of his face.
I sent this to a friend and asked him what the comic meant
"the bird says it can survive on its own, goes out and gains weight, turns out it was surviving off the food from where it started. so its like saying someone can survive on their own, but that got daddys big bucks to take care of them "
Isn't the blue jay the one living off daddy's big bucks? From what we know the cockatiel could have gone away and survived on their own whule the blue jay's just sitting there getting fed. Or is the green part a flashback to where the cockatiel went and they're not talking to the blue jay in the first panels?
