Hey, I have some free time around Easter and would love to get cozy and let my heart enjoy queer movies :hexbear-bi-2:

I thought maybe we could get a small list of movies; I'll start with the ones I've already seen;

  • Love, Simon (obvious)
  • Pride (2014) (obvious)
  • Port Authority (2019)

Edit: I mean movies with queer topics as one of the main themes, not "just" good queer representation

    • The Handmaiden
    • Moonlight
    • Call Me By Your Name
    • My Beautiful Laundrette
    • Portrait of a Lady on Fire

    if you want "junk food" movies, the Eating Out series would fit the bill

    Moonlight is pretty good, but it also deals with some heavy topics.

    I can never watch queer movies. I wish there were some that actually approximated what queer life is actually like, but when they're sanitised Hollywood schlock, they're just depressing

    Were The World Mine is my fav gay comfort food movie. It's not the most coherent but it's relateable.

    there's this really cute queer femme vampire movie called Bit from last year, the only problem being the ending is absolute dogshit liberalism. You can honestly just turn it off in the like last 15-20 minutes (you'll know the moment it shifts lmao) and it's a much better film. I guess that's all can be expected from cishet white men writing/directing rad queer topics :shrug-outta-hecks:

    Just watched Edge of 17 (1998), pretty good stuff, about a lil gay boy in the midwest

    I like Tangerine and And Then We Danced. But both left me feeling like “damn, life is hard” at the end, so I don’t know how well they mesh with cozy vibes.
