I can’t help but think she was a prior victim of her father, especially with her marrying someone with a similar profile. Taken into foster care as child, etc, then defending her father and husbands actions.

Obviously, and I need to stress this, this in no way excuses her coverups and defense of such actions like at all, this is a gross situation for all involved.

@Malikto also, can you mark this NSFW for the SV

in this case "NSFW" means something closer to marking it with a content warning. we've had discussions in the past about it and the consensus is generally that potentially triggering topics like sexual violence and abuse should be marked as such so people can avoid it if they want to.

We use it as a catch all for potentially triggering topics for the time being, until we can get a better system implemented

While this is terrible, all I can think about is how Reddit hired a literal spook to head up their moderation team some time ago and nobody really said or did anything

I wonder if the reddit admins are kicking themselves over the fact that none of this would have happened if they hadn't scrubbed those posts about her in the first place.

They can't stop being themselves. They are censoring villains, expecting them not to censor would be irrational. The fable of the scorpion and the frog comes to mind.

You don't think she removed those posts herself?

IDK, I don't think all reddit hires work directly as users on the site, so they might not be involved in that end. It also seems odd for a relatively new hire to go around altering comments about themselves.

But reddit is a shithole website run by idiots, so who the fuck knows 🤷🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

She was a mod of a ton of communities before she got hired.

I think she's exactly the kind of person who googles her own name constantly.

I didn't realize she was already a r🤮dditor before getting hired. Shithole idiots theory it is!

Literally all I have seen is transphobia because of course it’s Reddit right

ugh I guess that's to be expected I missed most of it luckily I guess.

I saw a bunch of people like "you guys! stop buying reddit awards wtf!?" and being concerned about their karma. That stuff was funny to me haha

Every time someone called out the admin’s behavior in that blandly sarcastic way that is characteristic of of angry Reddit comments, their posts would be gilded to the gills.

I wonder what thought process someone goes through before awarding a post like that. I guess Reddit’s dopamine Skinner box has programmed them so well the irony doesn’t even occur to them.

I saw a lot of arguing in Bad_Cop_No_Donut about whether pedophiles who haven't offended should be "ethically euthanized", chemically castrated, or launched into space.

Well I have literally no idea what's going on.

    The dilemma:

    1. Remain offline
    2. Submerge myself in further online drama to catch on.

    Decisions...

Left-wing? Maybe point out how collective action forced the boss's hand and capitulated to demands.

Right wing? Double down on that transphobia because that was obviously the issue here.
