I think you sincerely believe it was a clumsy statement but I don't think you've given yourself the time to reflect* on how you came to use that phrasing on a website with a majority (I think?) of trans users.

*Obviously you can't "win" in this scenario where you want to give an apology quickly because you recognise it has caused harm.

when two women share with each other which men have made them uncomfortable or assaulted them, that is considered gossip. some gossip helps people, some gossip is just fun.

Also, given the overwhelming majority of SA is committed by men, doesn't this impact the issue of misanthropy with, for example, many women quite rationally preferring to be alone in a forest with a bear than a man?

And then you say sometimes a good response for non-notable posters is the pit, which again I don't really understand how it addresses the risk of misanthropy. Perhaps I've misunderstood this part.

I think there is a real risk of doomerism and "end of history in West" thinking but I don't think the issues and contradictions have been properly examined, let alone point to a clear path forward at this stage.

I think it's more likely than not, they were very vested in an argument that I understand had mainly been occurring offline between mods and admins.

I don't think a mod doing that is necessarily representative of the site, almost all applications for mods are approved

I think this was the wrong decision, worsened by the "debate bro" alt continually posting about how REgon was definitely going to be banned.

I would have unbanned them and given them an opportunity to have say their final piece here, with a warning that hostility in the future would result in a cool down temp ban.

That person has been going for days on many, many accounts.

They (I think She but no tags there) also gloated about REgon being banned, and REgon was then temp banned and remains banned.

I don't believe any of the people whose concerns were relayed by the admins have actually posted in relation to it, so it's not much of a conversation.
