  • I'm getting a bit sick of the "working class torture spectacle" types of media that became a thing thanks to Hunger Games and then got revitalized by Squid Game. Everyone is making their own version of Squid Games now where everything is the same the except maybe one or two things are different. I find it frustrating not just because it's unoriginal but also because I'm realizing that the reason so many people liked The Hunger Games and Squid Game wasn't because of the anti-capitalist messages they gave, but because many people just enjoyed watching helpless people get cruel things done to them.

  • There are a lot of people who are very passionate about their field and want nothing more than to teach and do research. University administrators and a lot of older professors with tuition use these people basically as slaves, making them pull off insane hours without any compensation. They do this by promising them that if they work hard enough, they'll eventually get a full-time job as a professor and actually start getting paid, but in reality, these people generally just get sucked dry off their passion and end up working in a gas station.
