WA's biggest grower says waiting times for customs clearances have gone from a day or two to several weeks, but with no official explanation from the Chinese government on offer, reporting the problem is proving difficult.
Australia could do this since they have a floating exchange rate, but it would devalue their currency to the dollar making their money worth less on the international market. Usually countries really like having a strong, expensive currency (helps them fuck over poor countries bette, bankers like it) so I doubt they are going to do that anytime soon.
Also- extra grapes won’t rot, they’ll admittedly go for a low price, but they’ll go into distillation for brandy, or once that market is saturated, fuel ethanol.

To be fair, that's assuming that the capitalists are rational. Remember all that food being destroyed because of the pandemic?
