:reddit-logo: really just running that American exceptionalism headlong into the reality that their government willingly allowed them to die en masse and the only logical conclusion is that everyone else is just cheating

It’s not only American exceptionalism, it’s also the sheer inability to imagine life where capital doesn’t dictate your every living moment. “B-b-b-but my freedom!” exclaims a slave when he is forced to look at people living as one unified whole. “B-b-b-but my liberty!” - begs slave, who is only at liberty to die from COVID or starve from unemployment

This is rugged individualism. This is total colonization of minds by capital. This is capitalist realism.

It's not even that, it's in Capital's interest to keep the pandemic as low as possible, it's just that America has a pretty ineffective and unorganized dictatorship of the bourgeoisie.

The one in China runs much more efficiently, China is one of the only major countries to have a growing economy in 2020

The US is just an empire in decline and this is what it does to people's minds lol

It's in capital's collective interest to exit the pandemic ASAP, but capital's collective interest is only served when there's an individual interest binding them together, which is not the case here. Their individual interest is short-term profit, which abhors lockdowns.
