Don't they have that weird thing where they think if all the Jews are in Israel, then the apocalypse will happen and all the evangelicals get raptured or some shit?

Yeah it's a really common theory in evangelical circles, the church I went to as a kid believed all that bullshit. Occurs due to boomer brain viewing literally everything as an action movie in which they're the protagonist, interpreting Revelations literally instead of viewing it as a metaphor, or about the downfall of Rome, and reading too much Left Behind. Apparently Mike Pence believes all this, weather he actually is a true believer or not no one really knows.

Lemme guess it was the "opiate of the masses" quote misconstrued as being anti-religion and not that religion was a respite from the oppression and alienation of capitalism?

I feel like it's more common among americans in general. I guess they conceptualize ethnicity differently from Europeans with the whole white/nonwhite thing.

Also listening to the latest chapo+trueanon podcast right now and they're doing the same thing talking about "fake Russian Jews" who have no "authentic connection to judaism". Not a good look.

There is an anti-Semitic streak to the entire Zionist ideology, Jews do not belong wherever they live, Jews can't be Swedish or Italian or American or Russian. Instead all Jews belong in a country far away where they have to be ruled by a fundamentalist regime that necessarily has to be a brutal Apartheid system.

To Zionists being forever alien and belonging under Apartheid rule is an integral part of Judaism.

The literal founder of Israel "was proud of the fact that he had only set foot in a synagogue once in Israel,[95] worked on Yom Kippur and ate pork."

Yeah, I know a fuckton of Orthodox and Conservative Jews who think The State of Israel is a horrible and genocidal twisting of God's covenant for a Jewish homeland and should never have been created.

Ah, I see you live near Haredi Orthodox Jews. Literally an entire sect that was horrified at the prospect of a secularized Jewish state because they're actually versed in the scriptures and understood the lessons of history.

Even setting aside the horrors of the modern Israeli apartheid state, the project was literally backed by Evangelicals eagerly anticipating a nuclear apocalypse centered on Jerusalem.

Surprisingly only 1 is Haredi and not super trad about it.

It might be running with leftist orgs but hardcore Zionism seems to be less prevalent in Aus compared to the US/UK and largely the province of Hillsong chuds and secular Labor-right lanyards.

I have hypotheses on why (mostly distance and timing of immigration) but honestly I'd be talking out of my ass. Hopefully an Aus Jewish comrade knows more.

      No I will not explain.

I've read the actual explanation. It's generally smart to just... not.
