I know. I think I misunderstood the OP. Are we talking about non-cops who play fictional cops or actual cops hired as actors?
I guess that's the entire premise behind cops-like shows.

Actors actually go to therapy when they get caught. Whether or not this is better is trivial and left for the reader to decide.
