Maybe he should've listened to the Canadian and US doctors that suggested he ease off benzos instead of his patricidal daughter when she said he should go cold turkey in a medically induced coma in Russia. Especially when he only started takes benzos cause she told him to go on an all meat diet - at least that's what he says it's from.
Shit I wish my doctor's would recommend a slow taper. They're all trying to push an 8 year benzo addiction to one of the hardest rc benzos in to a 10 day quick detox and they act like I'm stupid for questioning their outdated and dangerous methods. I asked for any research or studies on fast tapers and was accused of desiring "too much control" over my addiction and they want to ship me to this hyper religious, no visitation, and no contact for the first few weeks then only 1 phone call twice a week rehab center. Besides the fact that it costs 10s of thousands of dollars and I don't even have 1k to my name they also have some dumb as fuck policies. No books except religious books allowed and no phones,tv, or anything electronic to help take your mind off the psychosis and hallucination while you're withdrawing in your personal hell all night for weeks. Then there's also their no speghetti straps or shorts/skirts above the knee and no mingling of the gays because that totally has relevance to recovering from addiction... It's been insanely hard trying to find a damn doc even willing to consider helping me slow taper with liquid diazepam. Hopefully I can find one soon or I'm fucked.
What the fuck. Clearly you need a better medical team. For one, you should have input in your own taper schedule they shouldnt be trying to ship you to some weird religious place when you asked for something more reasonable than 10 days. I know they say they dont like to taper longer than 6 months but 10 does seem too intense, especially if you're nervous. Cause you want compliance out of your patients...
