It's been several weeks now since Virgil has been on his own show. Has he been cancelled or he is just he locked in the bathroom with IBS? Does anybody know?

I think this place has been pretty level about it, and honestly I kinda agree with @SiskoDid2ThingsWrong 's semi-ironic comment in this thread.

Rape and sexual assault are truly insidious crimes due to the really personal nature that they tend to occur in making them difficult to prosecute (on both the legal and colloquial sense). False accusations of this sort are also quite insidious for related reasons (not to say false accusations are "worse" or even equal which is beside the point anyway). It does suck to feel like your good nature is being used against you and leaves reactionaries a wide window to (potentially) do things like this.

I don't really know what a reasonable solution is in the short term (someone please inform/remind me), but hopefully the complete abolition of patriarchy will make sexual assault something that doesn't occur at all under FALGSC.

I am personally unwilling to believe an anonymous victim.

When an actual victim comes forward publicly then I will consider, but literally anyone can write something and claim this or that online behind anonymity. I'm not believing accusations without a known victim that could eat shit in court if they're lying.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't trust court decisions either. Just that anonymous claims like this are purely aimed at online damage and harm, not at any actual justice. The victim isn't seeking any personal outcome in people finally being aware of their trauma because nobody knows who the victim is. It is pure damage.

If someone comes forward that can actually be identified then the whole situation changes. That person is seeking justice, personal vindication for what they've held quiet, etc etc. This one, if they ARE a victim, is still coming at it from the wrong place and it's only to do harm, and they are indistinguishable from someone faking to do harm which is especially sus.

I don't trust it. Never will. Give me a human being and I would change attitude completely but I can only reject this kind of thing because it's the only sensible thing to do.

Not paying attention to what some random completely anonymous twitter account which hasn't followed up with anything ever says is a good first step. Like, even if there is something to them, that's wayyyy beneath standards.

Yeah, it looks kinda bad for VT to just go radio silent in the short term, but it looks worse in the long term if there's never any follow up from the accuser (/"accuser") besides anonymous Twitter posts.

This shit is probably very stressful so I perfectly understand going silent. I really don't understand how anyone can pay attention to a completely anonymous twitter post, literally anyone can do this and it doesn't even sound very believable, it sounds like some kind of copypasta.
