Ireland and New Zealand are the two safest countries I've found. As an American, our diseased people isn't allowed into either atm afaik.

Germany. That's where a bunch of my friends from all walks of life went during the whole Brexit/fascist-normalisation happening - whatever. Which has a juicy irony to it.

Munich and Berlin are particularly welcoming. And much of the uni education is free even to internationals <3

New Zealand. They have their issues, and they're sometimes a bit "Downton Abbey" socially, but they won't murder you in the street probably.

Just saying re Berlin: depending on your job, you can live comfortably there without speaking English. My friend works at a startup and like half her office doesn't speak German. At cafes and stuff half the people automatically address us in English too. It's obviously good to learn German, but out of all the cities in Germany, it's the one where language would be the least issue.

Do you mind perpetual economic crisis? If you don't, maybe my country is ok.

I've been thinking about this too for similar reasons. The only place I can think of is Canada but I know that's not the best place either.

I've visited Montreal a long time ago. Spent about 3 days there. Beautiful city. The beer stores took some getting used to. I don't think I could afford to live there now unfortunately.

I'm not suggesting Cuba as a place to go, because their people apparently weren't supportive of article 126 (might be something else, just off the top of my head) which let trans people undergo free transition surgery. However, it is interesting to note that the government if not the people have a very progressive approach to things, treating it as a healthcare issue rather than a rights thing like it is in the USA.

Munich is nice and quiet and comfy. You may fit in better in Berlin, but it's a bit quieter here.

The Nordics. Document stuff is easy to fix. Getting on hrt if you already aren't takes a bit but you can order from somewhere else in the EU. Society in at least big cities is chill and tolerant. Great social net too. Education is free.

uhhhh wtf are you talking about? You really think the human experience varies country to country? You're just putting yourself on the hook for dealing with US foreign policy. Western corporate interests only have MORE power in the foreign countries they don't care about.

If you care about anything, then fucking do something. Stop being a black pill consumerist and try doing actual leftism. Organize your community or don't this dumb bullshit narrative that "america is just getting too evil for me so i'm leaving" just makes no sense. It won't save you from america and it kinda shows that you believe EVERYTHING you read.

a jew in germany wouldnt say "my life isn't being threatened" thats sorta my point. The post implies that "nations" are the only geographical unit that affects your day to day life. It isn't. This kind of galaxy-brained nonsense is for liberals.

You realize trans folks safely live in a whole lot of places in the US, in fact more places than they could 10 years ago. Transphobia is a violent meme that the right is using and it needs to be taken seriously, that doesn't mean you have to accept the thousand other flawed premises involved in a "which country is right for my vibes" discussion.

To the nearest, safest place. That'll be with a friend or family member that you trust and cares about you. This isn't a bourne movie. This is real life and it works a certain way. Starting a whole new life because of a future legislative nightmare just doesn't make practical sense.

Seriously your entire post is built on this premise: if I'm scared the only way to change that is to change my citizenship and leave everything I've ever known.

You've built your worldview on reactionary pundits.

Here's the problem with everything you're saying. You're pretending borders are a real thing. Capital and people are the only thing that's real. Based on the global economy being run by a handful of countries that hate trans people, thats just the going to the be how the world works. You're just doing liberal identity politics right now. "I need to find the right trans country for this trans person" thats fucking nuts. OP will be in danger if they're poor and safe if they're rich. Being trans in an aggressively transphobic society is a factor but no where near as a big a safety factor as personal wealth.

If you don't want things to get worse, do something to make them get better. Every other 'angle' here is just immature and reactionary.

                    another country

stop pretending that 'nation' is a reasonable unit of measurement for geography. be smarter.

You think all of ANY country is the same in terms of safety? You think there's any country that doesn't have transphobic violence? And you don't think every country has communities where trans people are welcomed and safe? You have cable news brain. You can't think outside the concept of nationalism. Nations aren't real and corporations aren't people. Stop letting losers frame the discussion. If your community isn't safe, find a safer community.

But all of this is just childish, class-blind identity politics. If OP is wealthy, they'll be safe. If OP is poor, they probably aren't safe regardless of gender/gender identity.

I know you're getting a ton of downvotes, but I'm legitimately on the fence between some of the things you're prescribing and getting the fuck out of town.

I think there's some merit in consolidating our numbers geographically. Not only across borders necessarily.
