I think Castro showed what's possible. Don't let the Church bully you around, but you don't need to straight up outlaw religion

As long as it sends the imperialists and capitalists running, doesn't matter much how liberation is done. Religion tends to decline on its own once people are well off anyway

This is pretty common in central and south American communities, along with Posadism. It isn't a meme there.

    alienating

love when radlibs admit they haven't read Marx and don't know what the jargon means

comrades that are way more radical than you

    are they really?

"emphasizing the liberation of the oppressed"

The central pastoral question of his work is: "How do we convey to the poor that God loves them?”

ctrl+f "capitalism" not found, They cannot have historical materialism because their PMC neocolonialism cannot withstand the scrutiny :amber-snacking:

Alienating is an English word that has more meanings than just the specific Marxist meaning of alienating people from labor

What fucking buzz words? I was speaking English you shit dick.

I legitimately hate this aspect of this community. Just absolute snark when anything clashes with your western sense of morality.

All I'm attempting to show is there is other perspectives of leftism outside of white boy in America podcasting.

        Eat shit comrade

Edit: if this was about the other guy then my bad and just move to the side a bit and let this vitriol be about him instead.

I don't fucking know. Seemed like an agreement to me. If so then just move the response up one tier.

Either way I'm killing the thread, the snarks too much from the big brains in here and my system can't handle it today

No see, the trick is to build the colonies there and then preach liberation to the people who pay tithes to hear it. Those tithes go to liberation probably and not further colonialism at the hands of a man in a gilded palace.

Obviously a lot of manifestations of religion are reactionary, but a blanket opposition to all religiosity and disdain for religious people seems pretty western chauvinist.

I grew up in an evangelical household where I was taught that I was constantly at serious risk of burning in hell for eternity, and I went through my edgy nu-atheist phase as a teen, but you need to grow out of that shit; it's disrespectful to act like anyone who believes in any God is the same thing as the reactionary cult that you grew up beholden to.

Are things like nu atheism and Scientology allowed to grow and prosper by the US government, are they popular because of the ideology and contradictions in the US, or is it both?

Otherwise, I'd imagine Liberation Theology churches would have popped up around the country and be filled with alienated former Evangelicals. Same with Posadism, but the only release valves available are New Age, Nu Atheism, or cults.

I know a few people that became trad Caths after growing up in an Evangelical home. They're annoying, but they are anti-war and much less reactionary than the average Amerikkkan.
