Well fundamentally, their goals and the republicans' goals are not far from each other and the gop doesnt need to pander to libs' civility etc. whilst working towards these goals. So the dems letting the gop win the election whilst looking like they are fighting against it is win-win for all relevant elites in the us and especially good for the dems, as the things their sponsors want get accomplished really fast and they still get to keep the moral highground and pose as a resistance against the right, so good pr.
