Don't misunderstand me. I hate fascists with every fiber of my being and think they deserve nothing but :pit:, but at least they're up-front about the horrific violence their system entails and their willingness to slaughter us en masse if we try to create anything better.

It's the difference between the guy who stabs you in the chest while yelling "FUCK YOU" and the guy who stabs you in the back and then tries to act all innocent, wagging a finger at you for swinging back and talking about how unlike you, they absolutely abhor violence.

"If I gave you silver bullets, then everyone would want silver bullets. And while there are enough silver bullets for everyone to kill these misunderstood pig-werewolves, if the distribution of silver bullets is not properly means-tested people might feel entitled to silver bullets."

I conceptualize fascists as basically rabid animals who need to be euthanized, so they tend not to make me as angry. Objectively more threatening, yeah, and I do hate them more (as in, unlike liberals, I want them all dead), but I don't find myself getting frustrated with them because my expections for them are already as low as they could possibly be.

:100-com: It's the frustration that makes the difference, I feel. It's the constant disappointment that some of them could come around but then don't.

MLK's Letter from a Birmingham Jail broke me. If someone is outright hostile to my politics, I can easily recognise them and confront them with the overwhelming force of a bully. Really kick the shit out of their head.

If they cloak that hostility in the language of sincerity, they are a Judas goat. If they enforce the air of civility to mask the policies of oppression, they are a Judas goat. If they are one book away from learning a single thing about the goddamn world and they refuse to read that book because it wasn't written for children, they are a Judas goat. Liberals are the threat that lies about its status. Nothing more.

Libs are the person who gets bit by the zombie and hides it from the rest of the survivors.

Fascists are typically direct about their goals and open that they’re our enemies.

Liberals are almost always clueless and totally unwilling to accept how their beliefs affect everyone else.

    Both deserve the wall.

A doubtful friend is worse than a certain enemy. Let a man be one thing or the other, and we then know how to meet him.

    -Aesop

What I try to remember is the fash are not a certain enemy, even if the libs are a doubtful friend. Look how they're trying to pretend to care about working people right now. Don't tread on me but worship the police and military. Cant shut the fuck up about freedom and liberty. They're just as deceitful

It's because the Libs are the ones in power and continually fucking up. It can be hard to remember that as it seems like the Fash are driving the ship; but it is Capital and therefore Liberals, that are the ones calling the shots. Also, since they dont have a fundamental ideological contradiction at their base like libs and the left do, the Libs, if given the choice and by definition they have the choice if they have power, will always side with the right at the point of crisis over the left, meaning they will always choose fascism.

Eh, I know plenty of fascists who are cowardly about their beliefs until they achieve any power.

I think about the difference between a dog pooping on the floor and your neighbor pooping on the floor. Dogs are dogs, it's what they do. Your neighbor should know better.

Though now that I type it, I think my opinion has fermented where it's a dog in a suit and your other neighbor, Mr Bow wow money bags who owns the doggie treat factory pays for floor pooping, etc etc, so I don't like the metaphor anymore
