The mission of the communists is to stop the crisis. Accelerationism is stupid.
Acceleration is the inevitable conclusion of understanding socialist revolution as the direct consequence of deteriorating material conditions.
We need to counter the idea that this is sufficient. Socialist radicalization does not directly follow from deteriorating material conditions unless the populace is fully proletarianized and actually aware of the contradictions in capitalism that create that deterioration - or if the populace can be convinced, defended, and collaborated with a vanguard party as so many have done, particularly by enjoining the rural workers and farmers (and usually in the context of anticolonual liberation).
This should be socialist education 101: shit getting bad does not automatically create socialist revolution, the social relations necessary are contingent on the country, education, propaganda, and ability to identify the enemy.
This is correct but extremely bleak because none of that shit is ever gonna happen in America. The only thing we've got is worsening conditions
In America it isn't going to happen but in one of the fractured independent states that emerges from American balkanization, who knows.

The crisis is inevitable and this iteration of capitalism is not thriving, it’s decaying even if small factions of its corporate body profit from the crisis in the short term
The mission of socialists is not to “stop” crises of capitalism (that is an impossible task) but to take advantage of them when they occur, to seize opportunities, tap unrealized potential and create alternatives that negate or transcend the crisis
Our overarching goal should always be more power for the working class not guaranteeing the stability of the system
To a certain extent accelerationism makes sense to me on paper but then people don't respond the way I think they will. Trump is a cheato fascist who tried to steal christmas; but naturally when he says he cares about democracy in Venezuela we support him. Or just run towards the right, double down on the democrats, and embrace the national security state. Pretty much the opposite of what I'd want from acceleration

I guess. Not even I expect people to become communists but just like see what a fraud the center left is and ask some questions. Instead they see it as the only thing protecting them and shut down entirely
I grew up in too many places with folks chomping at the bit to 'go vigilante' to think a transition to socialism in this country will be pleasant.

The mission of communists is simply to develop proletarian class consciousness. When people experience the alienation of capitalism sliding into decay, they only become meaningfully radicalized if they can see that Capital is the Alien, not embracing reaction.
