If you live in the US get an AR-15, if you live anywhere else you probably want an AK

Aks are obsolete. Not because of anything they can't do, but because of the way they are manufactured. They use extremely old fashioned and expensive methods like riveting and stamped sheet metal. As a result, it's extremely expensive to set up manufacturing, and time and labor intensive to produce.

Lucky there are so many of them floating around because so many countries made them in such large quantities they are still affordable anyways. They are pretty cool.

Do you encounter crowds often in warfare?

It's also good for looking cool like Rambo.

Suppressive fire is important, and with most full auto rifles you can still fire semi. It's just more versatile. You can cover someone better when people hear auto fire and instinctively cover for longer and more cautiously. Plus, it's just fun. Why make the standard issue the M4 instead of an AR if it isn't at least somewhat useful in an engagement?

Yeah not saying it doesn't have its place. I just encounter a ton of people who think it's a lot more useful then it really is, but I shouldn't have just assumed you were one of them, sorry. And yeah it really is a ton of fun.
