Look at the packaging for their og Cheerios clone. Its hilarious, it describes itself as "surprisingly good" "better than you would think". Like even the box admits it's not good, just ok. I can't think of any packaging I've seen that is that forward about saying the product inside isn't very good.

The only really unpleasant Malt O Meal version is the Cheerios. If you want Cheerios, its hard to match the original, unfortunately.

You can make rice crispy treats out of them that are pretty good. Just substitute the cereal instead of rice crispy in any recipe you find, it goes a really long way.
If you go the fancy route, some organic brand has sprouted oat cheerios that are pretty tasty.
