As for something more recent, sometime in late November I finally gave in and clicked on one of those What Happened? videos with the blue skull guy on it Youtube had been recommending to me for ages, and to my relief they turned out not to be a reactionary dumbass, and the content pretty enjoyable
It's parasocial if you start thinking of entertainers as though you know them or are part of a community with them despite the relationship being purely one of consumption. I'm not sure what a social parasitic attention is, maybe the people trying to spam their own videos in comments to leach some attention?

I still remember watching a LP duo that had some really good chemistry after binge watching most of it.
I went to one of their individual channels when I finished watching most of their stuff and posted a naieve comment hoping they'd hang out again.
That dude spent like 3-4 paragraphs dragging me and his counterpart because apparently I had missed like several major falling outs.

Imagine being whatever an LP person is and thinking you're someone of such importance that anyone who doesn't know every intricate detail about your shitty LP thingy should be shamed.
Spike and Barley. Mostly engaged with their popular uploads and that was about it. The comment was directed at Spike who (for lack of a better word) usually played the fool, so the experience was rather sobering. *I have literally no context for their spat and tend to keep it that way.
Northernlion's great. I don't watch his stream so I don't know if there's more to it than in the youtube videos, but he gets a lil bit :honk-commie: sometimes. Like sometimes he'll be two hours in to some random schlock and he just says something that I wouldn't expect to find outside this site.
Like in 60 seconds when Timmy became a comically over-the-top communist from a random event and NL was just like "oh look chat, it's you" and then called him based.
Honestly I have no idea which video it was in. The game was 60 Seconds: Reatomized but he has like 20 videos on that game so it could be in any of them.

To be serious though I think I get too disappointed about finding out someone is more liberal than I'd like when they're a YouTuber on the internet so who cares. Which is funny because I don't care about Jerma or Vinesauce Joel's politics as long as they're not assholes. It's more when someone says they're left or gets so close but isn't quite there, that's when I start to expect more and it gets frustrating whether that's fair or not.
Everyone I used to subscribe to either turned out to be a fascist (JonTron) quit making content (Spoony) or got really boring (Game Grumps), except for VideogameDunkey and RedLetterMedia.
