The nationalism, the colonial centric pedagodgy, class disparity, industrial poisoning of local communities, and thats just in the first 3 episodes of the season. Episode 3 has some good materialism.

Avatar has a lot to say. Its a good show.

Korra feels like it was made to appease the growing anti-SJW movement at the time with the first season during the proto-gamergate era. Amon is like a textbook Ayn Rand villain, and to a lesser extent the Red Lotus is as well beccause of their wish to end the Avatar, the ultimate great man of the great man theory. However, all of that pales into comparison to forcing in a 'Dark Avatar'. Why are we seeing a 12 year old's OC in a professionally made show?

The writers are big ol' libs but they accidentally made a really good show with only a few major flaws. I'm glad I was there when it was coming out and I'm glad it's still popular enough I get to talk about it sometimes.

Well, for example the way they fumbled the entire ending. Suffering from a serious moral dilemma resulting from a conflict between your philosophy/religion and the necessary actions required to protect other people? Don't worry, a never-before-mentioned turtle god will grant you a new superpower at the 11th hour. Unable to win a fight due to the choices you've made to stay in line with your philosophy/religion? Don't worry, Mr. Pointy Rock will unlock the superpowers you knowingly and deliberately disabled a while back.

That is still my biggest gripe with that show. Aang goes from person to person like “How can I do this without killing him?” and every single one of them is like “No you have to kill him dude” and it’s annoying that he got out of it

Yeah the show overall is pretty Lib but there's definitely bits of it that are really well done.

ATLA is by far my favorite TV show. The writers are more like well-meaning LIBs but holy shit did they get so many stuff spot on.

Plus the show is good escapism.
