The amount of comments online I’m seeing just demanding escalation with a global nuclear power is baffling. Nuclear Armageddon isn’t a matter of “bluffing”, no one here wants to end the fucking world. But we still have the big red button to take part in the threat just like Russia does! Yeah, MAD is fucking insane. The problem isn’t even that Putin suddenly decides to end the world because he says “fuck it, I didn’t like waking up this morning anyways”, it’s turning all the switches to allow flexibility for a “response” to occur. And then you just need some slip up somewhere, some high nerves, some bad information to suddenly get a sweaty scared human somewhere 5 minutes to either say “yeah, end the world” or not.

Sorry for the anxious rant, I’m just like are so many people really so eager to kill billions over THIS? How the fuck did this happen?

I'm leaning more on the sublimation angle. A ton of people living under captialism just want to die, but are also rendered incapable of perceiving the source of their alienation.

no they want the end of capitalism but can't percieve it happening anyway other than nuclear war. Under warmongering propaganda and capitalist realism we are all posadists

I was talking to someone who wanted nuclear holocaust as humans are bad for the environment and I could just sense that he was actually worried about capitalisms effect on the environment but couldn't conceptualise an alternative other than apocalypse.

Also a big part of that fantasy is reclaiming the homestead dream that was destroyed as the frontier ran out and capitalism evicted the farmers. If you look at it a big part of it is owning their own means of production

I once asked my Grandpa about the Cuban Missile Crisis for history class and apparently it scared him so bad he said he didn't want to talk about it. After the US's response to the Covid pandemic it got me wondering how much worse he would have felt if in 1962, someone from the Kennedy administration had gone on television with charts and graphs explaining that if Cuba launched nuclear missiles at the US it would only kill ~2 million people so everyone should just go on as normal.

Liberals have no purpose in their lives. Destroying Russia is one way to become heroes.

I don’t know about people in general, but I sure am definitely going insane.

I'm not against total nuclear annihilation but at least I'm honest about that coming from a place of my own chronic suicidality. I don't know what all these "mentally healthy" and "high functioning" people are doing

I've seen a lot of otherwise grillpilled people recently surprise me by being very pro war. Socialism seems to be the only thing that keeps you from being taken up in that nonsense.

fair point but I don't think they understand the violence treats relationship they believe this because the news told them to

Due to its geography north Korea has never been self sufficient in food production, they're also not immune to natural disasters like during the arduous march
