there are I think three types, of adhd. most correlate with dopamine deficientcy . So if given a dopamine agonist and symptoms don't improve there is a different problem to fix.

https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/features/adhd-keyfindings-different-diagnosis-criteria.html That has a simplified diagnostic rubric for it. Does that sound like your symptoms? https://www.aafp.org/dam/AAFP/documents/patient_care/adhd_toolkit/-assessment-table1.pdf There is the actualy DSM 5 flowchart to look at.

In what ways do you feel like this doesn't describe your executive disfunction? There is still the American test, where you drink a bunch of caffeine and see if it makes you hyper or calm. Clinically there are other tests, but they are increasingly jank. Usually they worry about anxiety or depression for false positive adhd cases. That is you would have a false fear you weren't paying enough attention or that you couldn't pay attention to your life cause you were depressed. Does any of this sound similar for you?
