So...Putin will try to kill Zelensky himself but the gun will misfire and kill him instead? And Ukraine gets to keep all their Nazis, and there is literally no meaningful change regarding the circumstances that brought us here?

I was actually just thinking of the books in and of themselves, but yes

On his teardown of them, they're so damn weird when you think about it; Rowling goes so aggressively out of her way to defend slavery. Instead of, you know, having your characters do the obvious good thing, they deride the only character who had any interest in even trying to, to the point it gets kind of comically disgusting

        It's all so...gross

also it's a magic world where the dishes can be done with a spell you could just not introduce slavery as a plot point

It's telling that she only introduced slavery to talk about how some races are inferior to others and actually enjoy being slaves.

Like all the work they do isn't necessary, they just really like being abused and told to do it.

or make it a thing only slytherin still does to show they're the wizard nazis. that would be a trivial task, as all but one of the named house elves showing up were kept by slytherins anyway. it would have been so easy not to turn this into a giant yikes.

but no, the kids are instead putting christmas ornaments on the taxidermied slave heads in No. 12 Grimauld Sq. and that's shown as a festive and cheerful thing that livens up the place before the holidays.

This, but its a nuclear strike and the "misfire" is just a thousand years of radioactive waste demolishing the heartland of Eastern Europe.

Shit, you know what this means? Pro-US Oligarchs are going to coup Putin and cut a deal with the West. Just giving Zelensky a win through no virtue of his own. The future has been foretold.

Pro-US Oligarchs are going to coup Putin

The sanctions make that increasingly unlikely. Jack Ma would have a better chance of couping Xi Jinping, atm. Putin's allies aren't the ones heavily exposed to western markets. And he's been judiciously pruning out CIA plants for as long as he's been in office.

If Zelensky "wins", it'll be through the Juan Guaido route of Americans announcing a Ukrainian Government in Exile and handing him $2B/year to wear a "REAL President of Ukraine" hat at the next Model UN summit. Big media victory for all the western ditto-heads, and then we just write off that corner of Europe as not existing.

the guy who kills the bad evil guy who does bad things and exists for no reason, definitely not systemic material pressures, and after he kills this bad evil no reason guy, he changes nothing and everyone lived happily ever after

I mean, yeah, ok. Zelensky is Harry Potter or at least, Liberals perceptions of him are pretty correct relative to their worldview tbh

Thank you shawn, I used something I learned from your video to post online, the circle of life

So many kids in my insular Christian community growing up had mom’s that accidentally got it right.

They weren't really right. Christians weren't running around burning The Chronicles of Narnia series, despite C. S. Lewis being just as big a liberal dweeb as Rowling. They were just upset that Rowling had replaced all the classical Christian symbology and morality with secular knock-offs.

Christians bagging on HP are no better than Red Sox fans complaining about toxic Yankees sports culture.

The fact that Harry's scar is turned sideways suggests to me that this is a troll mural.

Harry's lightning bolt usually points downwards, but in this it is sideways, like the Russian Z symbol that is currently popularising among supporters of Russia.

So is the Z meant to be his initial, or the Z that the Russians have painted on their vehicles?

it must be the Russian Z, but now I'm wondering why Harry's scar is shaped like that, or why he would be injured at all from the killing curse if it's just a minor scar.
