imagine having to create vastly complicated international supply chains to keep sustaining a consumption-based society while geopolitical interests remained fully national and many times divergent or antagonistic

like you obviously couldn't keep that shit going

you can't make those interests converge globally, the dominant classes in each country will always clash against each other in their own struggles for dominance

you can't bring stuff back and atomize production because at the very least prices will soar and your consumption drones are going to get mad and revolt

countries in the center did manage to maintain this by sheer force since the 80s, but that control is waning, and the very structure they created to adapt to the new conditions and keep the line going up is getting ruined

where the fuck is the way out of this

edit: what i mean is that what we're seeing since ukraine is just going to keep happening, this is part of a much larger process that will probably be very disruptive, maybe even "disruptive enough"

They will get mad and they might revolt but it probably won't be against the ruling class. It will be against something as stupid as mask mandates or hospitals having mask mandates for visits, again.

Maybe there hasn't, but I could assume there's been at least some low level violence of the :frothingfash: kind.

The most I can tell you about that I know is boomers assaulting nurses, that sort of thing.

            boomers assaulting nurses

nothing new there. boomers think anyone in a position of service is there for them to abuse.

americans might accept getting their family ruined by medical bills but they will never accept not being able to buy the latest and coolest funko pop

maybe, but they won't really "revolt". at best they'll just post hashtag shit and maybe do a clown convoy if they're trucker-chuds

the most stable economic system is the one that collapses because of lines.

but my point is precisely that it can't be done as effectively anymore

it's becoming harder and harder for the empire to actually impose shit around the world, even though they still mostly manage to do it

If they need to they will start occupying territory again before they let the flow of treats fall

although a big aspect of it is that China is increasingly nipping at American heels

exactly, china's rise makes america's threats of economic isolation far weaker than they were in the 20th century

the option of direct confrontation, mainly war, still exists, but if it's widespread it's also disruptive as fuck for everyone involved (though it's obviously much worse for people like me who would be the ones actually eating the bombs)

i just don't see any perspective of things getting better or staying the same for the center, they'll just keep getting worse and worse

We are probley gonna see a bunch of power plays soonish, like keep your eyes on the Taiwan, and South Korea for that matter. Here in the states I have a theory that the local porkies are pretty soon after Trump get elected next election gonna kick the shit of the blue checkmark, international capital, this is due to how American goverment is structured to favor local capital and power. This will have disastrous effects for the financial bro intentional captlists as I honestly think they might win a struggle with them in this next world contest but hey who knows. :shrug-outta-hecks:

Borders had almost killed capitalism in 1914-1918, but they had also allowed it to contain revolution in limited space.

I’m extremely cross faded at the moment, but I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if in 10-20 years far right radicals have used American weapons left over from the war to take over the Ukrainian government.

This isn’t a prediction or anything, just speculation.

I shudder to think what Russia will look like in 20 years. I could see Ukraine and the areas around it destabilizing like the Middle East and Russia just being cut off from the rest of the world like NK or Cuba but on an absurd scale. I feel so bad for the people of Russia and Ukraine. They’re full of so many great, honest, hard working people whose lives are getting torn apart by the actions of the State.

I honestly don’t know where we go from here. What superpower are we going after next? The world is only so big.
