It used to be genuinely good but then contrapoints and hbomb came out as libs and the subreddit went with them.

Philosophy Tube is still genuinely great tho

I mean I get where you're coming from here, but I wouldn't exactly assume that because someone doesn't support the DPRK or the USSR doesn't mean they're liberals, Anarchists would say the same thing

The wanting to invade the DPRK part is incredibly liberal, the USSR part is whatever typical socdem shit

Oops, I'm illiterate I don't know how I missed that military part. I retract my DPRK comment.

Still seen tons of Anarchists say the same for the USSR, also seen socdems too though so agree with ya there

Yeah I don't care about the USSR shit tho I wish he was a little more well read. The DPRK bit is completely fucked tho, I hope he has rescinded that belief.

Episode 20 is a great rundown on 20th century Korean history. The interviewee, Tim Shorrock, is the best American journalist you'll find covering the region.

The US is constantly antagonizing the DPRK so I do think it would be fucked up to take their response to the antagonism and use that to justify regime change. Episode 2 of Citations Needed has a wonderful discussion on how the DPRK isn't some movie villain country full of people who want to nuke the world for no reason.

I guess to better answer your question: if you are a socialist of some stripe you should do some fucking research instead of just accepting whatever news you hear about a foreign country as gospel. You already have to do research to become a socialist, apply that to literally everything and you'll be much less lib

I see where you are coming from and propaganda is used because it works so I don't blame the average lib for being brainwashed but I think we can both agree a self claimed socialist should do some independent research. Here's a good thread to combat some lib thoughts tho: https://rhizzone.net/forum/topic/13373/
