United Statesians are really full of themselves when they use American to describe themselves, like its two entire continents. Personally I think the idea of continents are stupid and have done more harm to the global perception of geography than the 1st and 3rd world concept, but United Statesians are not Americans. We should start calling these countries by these names instead just to annoy nationalists. From now on only refer to...

Panamanians=Americans

Turks=Europeans

Russians=Asians

Egyptians=Africans

Lets get people mad.

      Well I'm not suggesting we take away the word American to refer to a country, im just suggesting we use it to refer to Panama so we can get a struggle session in the future about who's a real American.

    Estadounidense, gringo, and yanqui/Yankee are the Spanish ones that I know of.

    This doesn't really answer the question, but I appreciate that the top answer here is great for a stackexchange site.

    America is 1 continent. It's contiguous. The continents are Afroeuroasia, America, Antarctica and Oceania. I might accept Greenland as a continent if you ask nicely but that's as far as I'll go.
