I say bring every pop culture element back into shambling unlife until it finally kills the nostalgia of nerds and teaches them to live in reality.

incorporate star wars into the MCU and make a film a year milking the thing until it finally stays down forever

make sure it includes a scene of Luke literally milking the thing

If they reboot with a new cast I think it would be okay. The fun part of Futurama's setting was how it opened up so many creative possibilities. A lot of people say the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes were some of the best the Simpsons had and I think it was because it gave the writers freedom to explore all kinds of settings and ideas. In Futurama you could have them go to different planets, or time travel, or whatever. The Sci-Fi setting opened the gates to a lot of refreshing newness.

same here. from what i've spoiled myself the whole thing goes in a direction that i was really hoping it was, just with a few little twists. from silly weird nerdy episodic kids show to ow my feels post-apocalyptic shipfest

Sounds a bit like SU...now I'm wondering why I didn't watch them at the same time.

You can only handle so much CalArts style at once without your teeth rotting out. :so-true:

Yeah this is why Family Guy is such a weird and terrible show. They are never fettered by any limitations, their earliest episodes are about the family surviving a nuclear apocalypse, meeting the pope, and fighting a giant sentient chicken. Yet instead they choose to go with the lamest boomer shit imaginable.

      And horrible bigotry.

I liked the strategy of hiring a bunch of pop culture obsessed stem phds for the writing staff. Really the perfect crew to write a satirical scifi show.

Hope they start doing reboots of all those failed Canadian scifi shows that got 2 seasons purely on government subsidies and the fact the sets were already in place in Vancouver.

Edit: while this is a joke, I'd like to say I loved that garbage and unironically hope this.

Keep rebooting it until we make it to the time period the show is set in.

They should have let it die after the first cancellation

Yes. The quality went down severely with the last reboot. There were a handful of good episodes in the later seasons, but damn, there were some cringey ones.

Same. I don't exactly care because if it's bad it doesn't ruin the good parts. If it's good great more Futurama. Not like imma pay for it either way

I kinda like the idea of it getting a new ending every few years as a continuation of its thesis that nothing ever changes. But I also never watched the show all the way through, so have less investment in it than others.

All good tv shows deserve to die in peace than be forcibly brought back. Capitalism corrupts all art.
