Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Reddit has a good track history of being in touch with reality. Boston bomber hunt, Reddit brigade to Ukraine & outing those CPC Uighur killers 🤡

I don't know what to do with Uighur saviors. "No, it's not a genocide, yes, it's an intrusive violation of individual rights and freedoms, not, it's not a genocide, and yes, it is much less harmful than America's counter-terrorism policy of "Kill them, then kill the first responders who show up to help them, then murder their entire family at the funeral."

Like you have to explain Adrian Zenz and the Victims of Communism grift and they're either going to accuse you of genocide denial or conspiracy theories before you get half way through explaining hte origins of the black book of communism.

The amount of energy needed to debunk propaganda is painfully disproportionate to the amount of energy needed to instill it in the first place.

its kinda genius because being tarred as a "genocide denier" is probably the strongest charge you can casually accuse someone of

Also it does double duty by softly equating actual genocides with much lesser crimes, diluting the concept and cheapening denunciations of some of the greatest crimes against humanity.

Now all the libs think Russia is committing genocide in Ukraine by removing refugees from war zones and the word has effectively lost all meaning.

I mean, most of my friends who accept the uigher genocide narrative deny the white genocide. If you can get them to admit that, then it comes down to quibbling over evidence and what have you.

(note: I don't believe the white genocide is happening)

I wouldn't underestimate the energy used to instill propaganda. Its been what nearly 100 years now of anti communist indoctrination? We are a few mice squeaking into the void against the full weight of the billionare class, the state and its appendages, as well as the masses who have been thoroughly brainwashed.

It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
