serialized manga format as before. no rough drafts left by Miura, but Kouji Mori (supervisor, Holyland mangaka, close friend of Miura) knows the entirety of the plot and they are working off of it. Miura's production studio producing it, will try to write "as not to deviate from Mr. Miura's own words."
Disregarding whether it will be good or not (I trust them to make it at the very least passable) this is kind of fucking insane. The devil's own luck that you have access to Miura's friend who he told the whole story to? That Miura trained his team to be able to emulate his art? The stones to decide to do it?
I'm glad they're doing it, but I do NOT envy their task.
I'm kind of concerned that 'knows the entirety of the plot' boils down to Miura telling Mori things like "and then, Guts like, meets this demon chick and she's got powers of like giant claws and turns into a monster, also his friends fight off monster tigers, and then Guts is going to win in this cool way where he like cuts the demon in half and he's all like 'grrrarrrgh' and then saves his friends and things, it'll be awesome!", and that's basically all he has to work off of for like 15 chapters worth.
That's usually how it is with these sorts of things. Hopefully the end result will be good.
Berserk has already finished for me, but i will support Mori and watch "his berserk" with interest.
Even if it isn’t the same quality as Miura’s Berserk, hopefully it’ll be good enough to give the story some closure
I can't say I've been a massive fan of all of Mori's works and some of them go off the rails in the worst way, so I'm tempering my excitement somewhat wrt this announcement
I'm interested to see where this will go. I don't know if it will be good or bad...but we'll see. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the Elf Island arc, but I guess I'm glad that Miura seemed to have gotten past whatever he was going through during the first few arcs.
If they fuck up Berserk I will kill myself. Other than that I'm very excited to see Kentaro Miura's story receive the conclusion he originally intended for it.
