Isn't fascism, like, the opposite of self-loathing? Its philosophy is basically "I'm so superior to everyone else that people who aren't like me should all be my slaves or be exterminated."
Fascism is the ideology of the petit-bourgeois, and is heavily motivated by their fear being reduced to the status of a prole, but being unable to identify with them due to their class position.

I'd wager it's because they are also fascists. The fact that whites want to kill them doesn't stop them from wanting to kill gays, for example. They see their own hatred for other minorities in the hatred that the fascists display, and relate to the fascists through this. Or perhaps it's their own sense of superiority but :same-picture: I guess

Fascists lie about almost everything to everyone, including themselves . Words don't have real meaning to them, they are only tools to advance your position and grow power . Fascist theory isn't much of a thing because fascists don't think like that, complete logic and building on concepts like that is missing the point of fascism.
It's not difficult to just make the lie to yourself that you won't count somehow if you are a fascist. Either you are "one of the good ones", or this version of fascism doesn't hate the specific group you are in, or whatever justifies it.
it's also worth noting that under our current system bigotry can be as fluid as it needs to be to maintain itself. So they're delusions of acceptance are probably based on the areas where they are accepted by the hierarchy such as a white woman thinking they'll be accepted due to being white or a male hispanic thinking they'll be accepted for being a man etc
Some usually more middle/upper class Italian Jews joined up with the blackshirts originally because they thought this would ensure that they would still get to remain in the in group and keep them from persecution, and genuinely couldn’t comprehend how they could walk the walk and talk the talk and still be considered part of the other just bc of blood or religion. Fascists have no ideologically pure stance on anything except for their own power. The most frothing neo-Nazi group would let a Jew join if it somehow served their agenda.
