Bullying Maine lobstermen is cool and good.

This is a piece I wrote which gets a little into the economics of Maine, in particular its lobster industry. A consumer advocacy group in California recently advised people not to buy Maine lobster due to the industry threatening the very existence of the right whale, and Maine lobstermen—every one of whom is petite bourgeois—reacted like a bunch of crybabies. My piece also makes fun of them relentlessly because they are by far the worst people who have ever walked the Earth.

This account is an alt I'm using because if any of these people find out who I am I will be lynched. As proof, I recently joined the Bug-Eating PMC Karen Caucus at my local DSA.

I'm sorry, in the article I distinguish between the petite bourgeois lobstermen who have the difficult-to-procure lobstering licenses on the one hand, and the workers they exploit on the other. I should have clarified. Lobstermen, for the most part, could read (or learn to read) if they wanted to, since they tend to have quite a lot of money, but they choose not to. They are also anti-intellectual and anti-education and would not care in the slightest if all education in the state was either privatized or abolished entirely. Also, I've been with this community since the r/chapotraphouse days, this is just an alt.
