I know next to nothing about him

Serious question - was he always secretly right-wing or did something happen in his life to break his brain?

Edit - I just assumed he was (now) right-wing. I'm too American for my own good.

If he wasn't famous he'd be one of those incredibly annoying Twitter accounts that calls themselves post-left anarcho-egoist and posts about how you can't let the state counter the pandemic or something stupidly idealist.

I never really watched a ton of his stuff, but he seemed (or maybe still seems?) to at best be a socdem that had their brain broken by COVID and policy surrounding it.

I knew Russel through mutual friends when he was still in his party phase. He wasn’t right-wing then, but the guy unfortunately has no theory and was all contrarianism / counter culture. He didn’t stand a chance once he met people like Dore.

I’m glad Russel is sober, but holy shit success in hollywood only made all his character flaws worse.

Edit: Brand is still not right wing I guess? No idea, to be honest.

        He's not right wing now.

He IS contrarian and counter-culture, but I've not seen any of that on the cultural issues, the guy is a leftist that swims through the brainwormed reactionary common folk like a fish in the sea.

That’s good then, haven’t seen him since he made it big in LA. Hope he somehow keeps that up.

There's a quote by somebody that goes "Hollywood is a trip down a sewer in a glass-bottom boat."

Yeah. Fame takes whatever you are and amplifies it. If you don’t go in with a good support system… you’re going to get messy.

If he isn't yet, he will be if he wants to make money on his new platform.

Yeah, this. The money has always been in content that frightens and worries and presents imminent danger to a consumer. "If it bleeds, it ledes"

He didn’t used to be. He’s in Jimmy Dore’s orbit now though and that guy is crypto-fash
