Also does this mean that DE still exists as an IP that ZA/UM the private company still owns to do with as they please? Worst possible outcome for it if so. Guess I'll just ignore the existence of any adaptations or spinoffs if that's the case.
this is all part of some pointdexter contract that we're not privy to (some companies own 50% of the IP rights with the original author still holding 50% or other such arrangements) although the rumours are the original team didn't "leave the company voluntarily" so my money is on the ghouls running off with everything

Yeah that was unfortunately the impression I got when I saw that the creatives behind DE were fired (though I hope I'm wrong). This is all so ass.
Hopefully the rights to the universe of Elysium isnt with the company.
