I really loved the Snowpeak Ruins in Twilight Princess when I first played it. I thought the idea that the dungeon was just a Yeti's big house was really fun.

I really like the dungeons that try to be actual places and not like underground labyrinths with traps. Snowpeak's probably the best one for that.

I was so taken aback by it, because I just thought it was going to be an interesting little location, but instead I see the banner announcing the name and realized I was entering a full-on mainline dungeon.

Best and worst at the same time, the water temple where you had to mess with the water level, I think in Twilight Princess IIRC or was it Ocarina?

ooh that's a toughie. i'm gonna say my favorite is either the Bottom of the Well in Ocarina or the Arbiter's Grounds in Twilight Princess. I like the spooky ones.

Eagle’s Tower from Link's Awakening is my favorite. It's open-ended and nonlinear in a way that few other dungeons in the series are. And the central puzzle is a large-scale dungeon wide affair, rather than a key hunt. If I had a criticism of it, it's that it doesn't offer very interesting combat.

My least favorite dungeon is from the Oracle games. I actually can't remember a specific one that I dislike the most, because the early dungeons in those games are so uninspired and without character that they blur together in my mind.

Stone Tower Temple from MM fucking rules

I remember hating Great Bay more than OoT Water Temple, but maybe I just liked Majora's Mask more

Part of what makes Stone Tower so great to me is the parts leading up to it. The mummy dad in the closet still tugs on the heart strings. MM was such a wonderfully melancholy game.

Jokes on you, I'm just gonna talk about the ones I like

Stone Tower temple goes hard as fuck. I poured over every theory and every piece of beta content about it. I wrote a (cringe) book where there was a faction based on them

I liked the City in the Sky in TP. It was vertical and ended with a dragon fight. That went hard as fuck

For some reason the Ancient Cistern in Squidward stood out to me. I think it's also the first place I learned about SRM.

I didn't like the temples in WW very much. I think I much preferred to be out on the open seas during that game.

I remember twilight princess on the whole having pretty consistently good dungeons, but I haven’t played it for 15 years so I can’t remember any specific ones lolll.

best: either the sandship or the water temple in skyward sword

i'm not a big SS fan but i think it had some really good dungeons

worst: either the water temple in ocarina or the one inside lord jabu-jabu

As a kid I was stuck on Jabu Jabu forever. Made me quit the game multiple times.

I think my favorite has to be the Spirit Temple from Ocarina of Time. You have a full inventory of gear to choose from, both as child link and adult link. The aesthetic matches some of those old SNES temples. The two-part boss fight. The music. The way it fits into the "lore" of the entire game.

I can't remember my least favorite. I certainly struggled with the infamous Water Temple back in 1999 but I tried it again on emu 5 years ago and had no trouble so its tough to hold a grudge.

Shadow Temple from Ocarina of Time was definitely a runner-up for favorite. It was still creepy when I replayed it on the emulator. I was surprised.

Worthy of mention: You know what I loved about Majora's Mask and also makes those temples rank for great temples in my memory? Being able to go back and fight the bosses again. I wish I could do that in other Zelda games.

I forget the stupid names of the beasts in BOTW, but I remember the came being the only good one. By chance it was the one I did first, so it set the bar high and I found the others lacklustre.

Here’s hoping BOTW2 turns out awesome. Botw + several high quality dungeons would be an incredible game.

Best: Skull Woods from Link To The Past. Very cool and spooky aesthetic, and the boss is quite challenging if you don't just cheese it with the fire rod.

Worst: Jabu Jabu from Oracle of Ages. It made the Water Temple gimmick even worse by making you do 3d navigation on a 2d plane.
