We're on a rewatch in my household and we just got to the two parter in season 6 that precedes Deep Space 9. Gonna be watching them together in airing order. I've never watched more than the first season of DS9 so I'm pretty excited.

That's what I've been told! I started a watch of DS9, but my wife said she was interested and so we decided to start the journey at TNG (which she's never seen). It's been a great constant to help us stay sane this year!

I always feel the odd one out when it comes to the viewing order - after TNG I went onto Voyager instead, because the first few eps of DS9 just bored me lol. Ultimately it paid off, because while VOY had a disappointing ending, DS9's finale was a much better send off for the whole show.

We do plan on watching Voyager as well. I've got a smart collection on my Plex server that orders episodes by air date and removes episodes upon being watched.

This is probably a mistake, but we're including Enterprise so that will be our send off lol

I did this for TNG, ds9 and voyager. Theres not much of important overlap between the shows, but all three are great and worth watching, so why not watch them in order?

I'm in the middle of watching the original series for the first time ever. I know it's not really fair to compare the two since they were in entirely different eras of television but comparing them TNG is just so, so much better in every way, IMO.

Honestly TOS has been kind of a let-down for me. It's a reflection of the times it was created in but still, just rampant sexism on display. And other than Spock, I haven't found any of the other characters all that compelling.

There's a Futurama joke where Fry says something like "Star Trek was a show with seventy-nine episodes, and about twelve good ones", and it's basically a perfect description of TOS.

If I remember correctly from my watch through of TOS, no less than three episodes use logical paradoxes to destroy a villain computer and save the day.
