I'd probably still prefer a crappy electric plate over a gas stove, fucking insane to me to read stories like "Oh yeah haha once I woke up in the middle of the night and realized the gas was on and if I turned the knob one way I'd have just shut it off no problem but if I turned it the other I'd have had a fireball right in my face, luckily I turned it the right way".
I mean I guess theres probably safety measures on nicer gas stoves, but then we're in the bougie argument shit again, "Oh your gas stove automatically tries to not kill you if you forget to turn it off properly? Ok PMC." Might be different if Id grown up with it, but I still forget shit with electric or induction stoves so not having an open flame and flowing gas in the house is a nice reassurance.
