I think that's a joke from most people whereas I don't see much irony in these comments, just pure electoral tribalism.

I'm sorry but nobody here is actually serious when they say they want to get nuked.

Not to the point of actually wanting to genocide people. It is just doomerism expressed through extremist irony.

I don't want to genocide the CEOs,bankers, lobbyists, cops, lawyers, grifters and politicians. I do unironically want to give them all the choice of a cyanide pill or living out the rest of their days in a forced labor camp with no possibility of parole.

i think they're fair game when we don't have control of institutions to Puyi them. Hinkley should've used a 45.

this will happen more and more as the US empire falls but also that empire keeps billions around the world in poverty and is killing the planet. It does need to fall

this didn't happen because of US financial imperialism breaking down. It's a result of institutional corruption and corporate cost cutting.

This could have happened at the height of US imperial power

no one here is celebrating the derailment we have posted in support of the people and worried about the ecological damage

That's actually a point I've been thinking about a lot but, to be honest, I've never seen a time when we were cheering at average Americans suffering, like during floods/outages/pandemics/etc. Most of the indignation present was directed towards the Bourgeois state itself which allowed it to happen. The times I do see the whole "Death to Amerikrakkkers" (ie, the people) bit flung about was frustration at Americans having shit political takes, on social media or on polls. Which isn't exactly harmless as you point out since it can breed outright misanthropic sentiments but it's not equivalent to these shitlibs mocking people for living in the "red" territories.

Every internet community has at least one kook they keep around for laughs until they go beyond the pale

Back when I was on an infamous Fallout fansite, there was this guy who went by Prosper who kept going on and on about how he was gonna make a multiplayer mod for Fallout 3

He'd post really poorly rendered 3D models and be like "Any day now!" and we'd call him a dumbass and move on with our days

Then it turned out he was sexually harassing one of the users via DM and we banned his ass faster than you can say "sassafras"

I think Americans across the political spectrum (if they're politically active at least) are all starting to act more and more like this. It's part of political polarization getting worse, we all fucking hate eachother and want eachother to just fucking die. It is uh kind of a big issue with life here at the moment, and I don't see any "bridging of the divide" happening soon even if the govt bangs the war drums together in an act of imperialist bipartisanship against china or whatever.

Remembering :matt: talk about how, more and more, modern American democrat vs. republican politics has nothing to offer except making the people you hate suffer.
