Americans: "We will automate everything and become unstoppable!"

Russian: wanders up with a stick and shoves it into the bicycle spokes

Americans: "It only cost us 6% of our national budget to unleash our automated bicycles and now Russia has revealed its stick-in-wheel technology, leaving them totally exposed to our counter-offensive. This means we're winning!"

Russia has not recovered the drone and the jet was likely damaged, the Pentagon said.

"In fact, this unsafe and unprofessional act by the Russians nearly caused both aircraft to crash," U.S. Air Force General James Hecker, who oversees the U.S. Air Force in the region, said in a statement.

Pilot landed safely. Unprofessional for a war fighter jet during a war? Probably because he fucked something up without killing anyone!

      From RT z

      What happened to the wreck?

The Pentagon insists that no part of the drone has been recovered by Russia, but would not provide any more details to US reporters. Moscow has not officially commented on the matter. According to open-source researchers on social media, however, the Russian navy managed to recover several parts after a search-and-rescue operation, as the US and its NATO observed from P-8A and G-550 surveillance planes.

In a statement posted on its official Telegram channel, the ministry said the drone was flying with its transponders off near the Crimean Peninsula when it went into “unguided flight” and then fell into the water.

Who the fuck condemns someone shooting down a spy drone? It's It's spying, you don't admit it even existed. You don't get to complain when someone shoots down a spy drone.

Child John Mulaney voice “Hey, doesn’t anyone wanna know why his drone was near my fighter jets in the first place? Isn’t anyone curious as to how I had access?”

Let’s look at the Black Sea on a map compared to the US and Russia. Hmm it sure looks like one has a reason to be there and the other doesn’t!

There's a bit of a difference between a Chinese balloon and a $32 million US military aircraft.

Have you seem our military budget? That 32 mil is probably the same percentage of our budget that china's military spent on a balloon

A one to one comparison of budgets doesn't make sense. The purchasing power is different. Money in China goes further as they don't care to pay their employees as well. They can produce equipment for a fraction of the cost.

I bet the insanely well paid engineers that went to the top colleges and universities in world that are designing and manufacturing this stuff in the US do a better job than the underpaid Chinese guys. Russia is demonstrating that quantity doesn't have any clear advantage over quality. China has made lots of its shit based on Russian designs and military dogma.

From r/worldnews thread discussing this and the balloon scare. lol fucking lmao yet at the same time these takes make me wanna die

The engineering faculties of top US and global universities are like... 60% Chinese people.

All the top American universities are filled with elite students and faculty imported from countries with better education systems. These Redditors are a joke.

Soon it’ll be 0% because the US will keep accusing every Chinese kid in college of being a spy and alienating them from the military industrial complex. If I remember correctly, the US intelligence and military has a huge shortage of mandarin speakers lol

I’m willing to bet that over 50% of the well paid engineers in the US are overpaid. If you’re doing work from home while your job is “managing” super duper top secret spy and military shit, yeeah something tells me you don’t have a real job.

Western media is freaking out about it too.

Taking it down without completely disintegrating it with a missle or bullets risking damage to the plane. Must have been a hell of an intel grab for Russia.
