I want to help a kid jailbreak his nintendo switch so he can play downloaded games. I'm not a gamer and I don't own a switch but I can follow instructions. Can someone point me to a guide or video on how to proceed? thanks

But you need to also know the cons of playing a pirated switch. Mainly it is gonna turn fully into an offline machine (your Nintendo account will get banned playing switch on custom firmware), and you need to jig your switch (short the two pins on joyconn with a paperclip) everytime, so it is not that convenient.

You don't need a jig every time if you enable autorcm. Downside is that your switch will not turn on while this is enabled without a properly set-up sd card inside of it and some way of sending a payload (connecting the switch to a pc, phone, or special tool you can get for $10-$20). If the battery dies while autorcm is enabled the battery will charge at a snail's pace. You'll need to leave it for a while to charge up enough to be able to turn the switch on and then it will charge as normal. You can use sleep mode like normal.

thanks, sounds like a pain in the ass to mod the switch. A very young child, so I would have to do everything for him, doesn't sound like it will work out.
