Unless it’s a service animal, I don’t like when dogs are in public buildings. Tired of trying to buy food at the grocery store but having to dodge dogs and avoid stepping over their leashes. This anger is mostly directed at their owners as I’m skittish around dogs I don’t know.
No more touch screens. Bring analogue buttons back. I want chunky electronics with physical clicky buttons. If it doesn't need a screen- get rid of it. I have a drawing tablet with physical knobs and it's awesome.
A screen is an excuse to feed you more ads. On that note: fuck smart tv's.
Things were built to last back in the day. Get your kitchen supplies at an antique shop, tools too. Unless something had lead or uranium in it, it's probably fine and will last another 50 years.
Learn to fix things. It makes your life easier and the people in your life will appreciate you.
If you buy something cheap you buy it twice. (Edit: this applies to buying new things, not well built antiques)
An Etch a Sketch?
Xp pen lol
I like touchscreens on generalist devices, but nothing replaces a nice button-y, dial-y design purpose built to do one thing flawlessly.
I hate that my stovetop has buttons, induction is great, but it’s so unintuitive.
I couldn't find an induction stove that had knobs, they all have touch style buttons for + and - heat.
We get it, it's the newest and best stove technology. Just give me a knob you knobs.
Our kitchen scale has a touch sensitive interface and fuck me, it’s nothing but annoying. A digital scale with with a mechanical on-off switch would be so much better
My family switched from a lovely stove/oven with buttons and knobs to one that uses touch sensitive shit and it sucks.
You cant adjust multiple heating surfaces at once, instead you need to switch between each one and if you forget which is selected, you adjust the wrong thing. You spill shit on them and they start changing the heat on their own or lock up and wont work until you wipe it off, it beeps all the time, hate it.
Edit: Also the same thing with the oven part of it, you only have one circular slider kinda thing to do any adjustements with within the menus, and you have to manually switch between the options to adjust them. So you first click the oven setting button, slide to the correct setting and hit start, now if you want to change the heat to the right value, you need to remember to hit the heat button before you move the slider, because ooops you've just now switched to a different oven setting like the grill or something, start over moron.
And a bunch of shit just shuts it off automatically and makes you start over, if you plug in the built in oven thermometer for example it resets both when you plug it in and out. The old oven was great you just had a setting knob and a heat knob separate, and you turned the first one, then the second one, and it worked. Sure you could bump them, but you probably felt that happen anyways and could fix it!
Tactile buttons on appliances just don’t feel right
My smart tv with the Plex app means I can ditch all the streaming services without pissing off my wife so that’s a price I’m willing to pay.
Totally agreed about touchscreens though.
Love to control volume with a touch screen and having the volume indicator be hidden by my fingers, or have it increase/decrease by like 5 points from the intended volume when I release my finger
