ngl Tomb Raider 1 dinosaur scared me to death back in the day, I used to have nightmares about it as a kid. And the thing that turned Lara into a golden statue? Omg that game is cursed to me.
It might be fun if they switched back to her PS1 characterisation where she is just some rich asshole that murders endangered animals, prehistoric beasts, monsters, indigenous people, Italians, Tibetan monks, British Museum security guards, the homeless, witches, US military and aliens because she wants cool shit to decorate her giant mansion with as opposed to being plucky and sad about her dead dad
The new team at Core decided to kill her, but then in 5 and 6 they changed the plot and she survived. I think the whole explanation was cut from the 6th game because it was released unfinished.
I do need to replay the old Tomb Raiders, killing that tiger at the beginning of 2 fits well into "killing endangered animals* category. And face that fucking t rex that haunted me for years
Plus you could shoot at Lara's steward in her mansion, I think that was on 3.
Getting old in the age of treats is fucking weird bc someone will be "Did you see the heartrending new Deathmurder movie where Deathmurder McKillguy sacrificed everything to save his son?!" and I'll be like "Deathmurderer McKillguy from the darker and edgier 1994 comic book "Deathmurder Murders Again?" That sounds very out of character for him ngl" and then find out there have been seven re-boots and an OVA.

That Lara was supposed to die in Tomb Raider 4, and i doubt they will continue the Angel of Darkness timeline
Fuck me, did she die at the end of that game? I played all the Ps1 games some years back and all I remember is that it took place entirely in Egypt
4 was actually kind of decent, but you really felt for Core having to push out 5 of those games in a row

Now that I think about it, I think 5 was framed as her friends talking about her various exploits at her funeral with the levels staged as flashbacks

The atlanteans and the doppelganger used to scare me
Dude I can't remember the sound of her face planting 300' in to a rock, but my limbic system does and just thinking about it makes me cringe.
