The lucidity he displayed there was honestly the best I've seen from just about any politician in the current century (obviously people like Debs are contenders in the previous one).

I can't believe he's coming back after that hilariously petty bridge closure thing ruined his campaign last time :michael-laugh:

Like Herman Cain I don't understand who his base is. I've only seen one Herman Cain sticker and it was on a beat-up minivan in the parking lot of a grocer in rural Wyoming. Last time Christie ran I didn't see a single swine in hog country even mention him. He has to be angling for some position in the next Trump administration.

Or love it when they have a day to the beach planned but are informed that the governor has closed it for the day so they don't have to look at the poors.

I remember getting unfriended by someone I went to highschool with because I called them out for jumping from every single nominally respectable Republican to the next during the race and making these grandiose endorsements on Facebook as if anyone gave a shit what he thought. I said something along the lines of, "Will you just stop kidding yourself and admit you'll be voting for Trump already? All these other clowns come into the spotlight for a month before getting some stupid nickname from Trump, and your party has the intellectual acumen of grade schoolers so whoever said the meanest thing last is considered the winner of the debate. It's embarrassing that you've endorsed 4 different candidates already, just admit you'll be voting for the rapist because you care more about hurting the poor than your so called 'morals' that have prevented you from endorsing Trump sooner."

    :popcorn-time:

The former New Jersey governor has sought to set himself apart from other candidates by taking Trump to task. He's criticized other Republican challengers for steering clear of any Trump flak by likening the former president to Lord Voldemort, the Harry Potter series villain whose name is rarely spoken out of fear.

This is from 2021, but they may as well rerun it.

Energized Chris Christie Ready For Next Chapter Of Humiliation

MENDHAM, NJ—Saying he was fired up and excited for the chance to debase himself on a bigger stage than ever, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie told reporters Monday that he was ready for the next chapter of his humiliation. “Look, I’ve been out of the limelight for a few months, but I promise you that I’m in a place where I can finally turn the page and disgrace myself anew,” said Christie, explaining that despite his many ups and downs, he had no doubt that the greatest embarrassments still lay before him. “Really, I just want to do as much as possible to bring shame upon myself and my family. That’s what my time in office has always been about. So, yeah, I’m revitalized and can’t wait to embark on what just might be the biggest indignity of my life.” The former presidential candidate added that if his political trajectory had revealed anything, it was that you should never count out Chris Christie’s ability to disgrace himself and everyone affiliated with him.
