IIRC if you're just looking to do recolouring and no layout changes, the Lemmy themes are well designed and you'll just need to substitute a few colour-codes.

I recommend casually playing around with the Inspect Element menu in your browser to get started. All changes there are temporary so you can try whatever you want, I think the base colour settings are at the bottom of the CSS rules.
