Thanks @ChapoKrautHaus@hexbear.net for finding this and posting it in the news bulletin, I felt it needed its own post.

The original title of this article is way too passive voice for my taste but the article itself is pretty good.

American rancher kulsks literally planting landmines so they don't have to spend slightly more money on more appropriate methods to keep coyotes at bay is quite the headline.

Should we get some alpacas or mules? No! We'll plant fucking chemical gas mines at random all over the countryside!

We need a global coalition to invade america and dismantle their weapons of mass destruction.

Fun fact, coyotes are important for controlling prairie dog populations; prairie dogs are also a cattle nuisance because they compete for forage. So then the ranchers want to poison all the prairie dogs. Just defaunate the whole countryside.

Wow, the linked fact vs. fiction document made by the sheep farmers is something else.

FICTION: planting cyanide landmines is dangerous

FACT: nuh uh, no one has died yet1 and we put out warning signs2 and we filled out all the right paperwork anyway

    1. People have died already
    2. No they don't

Fiction: M-44s and Compound 1080 used in LPCs present a risk to pets.

Fact: Canine pets are at risk, especially to the M-44 device

So it's not really fiction then agony-turbo

I thought I already knew about most of the US' scumbaggery. Then you have to go and show me this. Sometimes I wonder if American leadership wakes up in the morning and says "What's the most fucked up thing I can do today is?"

I give it like a year before we hear about these being planted along the US/Mexico border and baited with jugs of water.
