They definitely don't shoot the gun mounted in the llama, but they should probably have ear protection or are trained to not freak out when hearing a bang.

If you are in the mountains transporting materiel and suddenly you are ambushed, you don't want the llama to run away. But it's my country and they are all idiots so idk.
