    As a non-american, is SNL still popular there? Because man, every political skit they release is embarrassing af.

      There's been a notable drop in how much of its cast is doing other successful stuff. Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and Andy Samberg were probably the last recent cast members to have a lot of success outside of it. I think Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, and Leslie Jones are the only recent cast members to have some success outside of it, but nowhere near on the level that a lot of the 90s and 2000s cast members were having. I think comedy basically dying as a blockbuster movie genre and NBC sitcoms dropping off in popularity in the past decade really has made it so SNL cast members don't have the crossover star power they used to have.

      I believe its ratings are consistently okay. High enough to justify keeping it in that time slot.
