Sure, I agree that China is far better than the US, and if this want a leftist forum I'd keep my mouth shut, but they have some serious flaws that really should keep them out of the "good" category unless you're shitposting imo

MLs are almost entirely too doomerpilled to effort post. There's a reason /r/GenZedong is so circlejerky

We mostly just see China as obv not as bad as the west, we realize literally no reddit poster will positively effect any CCP policy and at best will lead to more red scare, and we realize that 80% of the radlibs freaking out about China live in an actual fascist imperialist nightmare, maybe they should worry about that instead.

There's plenty to criticize China for but criticizing China will do literally zero good for the left.

Criticizing china can definitely do some good if it's in the correct venue (communists talking to other communists). I'd never hammer it home on reddit (even on the old sub), but as long as it's clear that one is not making criticisms from a liberal point of view, and the discussion isn't taking place in front of a large amount of liberals (e.g. chapo.chat, for now) then it's fair game imo. We can't allow institutions that we consider socialist to operate free of criticism. A big reason that China is worth discussing is to understand what and why they are doing certain things, and what actions a future socialist movement in another part of the world could take.
