Pretty much all we had was our understanding of the universe, which is still pretty rudimentary. It's also worse that we've been smart enough to understand why our society is ending and done almost nothing to stop it.
I think the problem is that libs ARE trying to stop our society from ending whereas we are trying to destroy their society to build a new one with the knowledge that it does not work.
